FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MUNICH, Germany -- Mrs. Filomena Jones, 10 Highland Avenue, Kearny, New Jersey, directs an American Red Cross club in Bichler Brau hotel, former gathering place for Nazi SS troops guarding the nearby Dachau concentration camp. Located in Furstenfeldbruck, the club accommodates over a thousand xxx U.A. soldiers a day in the snack bar.
Sometimes I believe the most appreciated service of the club is the hot water for baths, Mrs./xxxxx Jones says. We have two tubs, and they are busy all the time, Most of the outfits stationed around here have no hot water of their own.
Overseas since February 1945, Filomena Jones served in Wales with a station hospital before opening the club in Furstenfeldbruck. Popular program features, she says, include dances with allied displaced persons as guests, dancing lessons, ping-ping and games of all sorts, and German musical ensembles.
Mrs. Jones is the widow of Lt. William B. Jones, who was killed in action. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Fiore, live at 10 Highland Avenue, Kearny, N.J. Prior to joining the American Red Cross for overseas service, Mrs. Jones taught in the North xxxxxxxx Arlington, N.J. public schools. She is a graduate of New Jersey State Teachers College at Newark, and a member of the New Jersey Teachers Association and the New Jersey Parent Teachers Association.
