Dear Miss Thompson:
You can imagine my surprise upon receiving gThe Service Mens Newsh in this God forsaken spot. Congratulations to Miss Vaughn-Eames please. She evidently is doing a swell job, and that goes for you too gAunt Nancyh. Say hello to Miss Lipson for me. Too bad Ifm not around to start a little argument. Ole Jap Pluvius reigns supreme here. The newspaper is a splendid idea and Ifm all for it. Certainly looking forward to the next issue. Ifm in a heavy maintenance outfit, tanks mostly. One of the many duties is censoring. Have seen many Japs, but none enemies. When we do encounter them you can be sure Ifll send you a stuffed Japfs skull for the Library show case. Hope you have received my Christmas greetings, if not let me extend to you now the merriest of Christmases and the happiest of New-Years.
As ever,
Vinnie
